OLED and 8K display with refresh rate up to 120Hz.
Corning's recently released Astra Glass, featuring low total pitch variation, low total thickness variation, and low sag, is a precision-designed oxide glass substrate that provides high performance for tablets, notebooks and 8K TVs. High pixel density immersive display.
At the same time, benefiting from the growing demand for large-size displays and other new applications, the display glass market is expected to grow at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of around 5% between 2018 and 2022, while the TV market above 65 inches is here. The compound annual growth rate during the period will reach 20%.
The increase in screen size will also drive the expansion of the display glass market. Tseng pointed out that the average size of the TV display is expected to increase by 1.5 inches per year between 2018 and 2022, and then from 45 inches in 2018 to 51 inches in 2020.
However, during the forecast period, the CAGR of the over 60-inch display glass market may reach 18%, much higher than the 3% CAGR of the display glass market below 60 inches.
