In the third quarter, BOE TV panel shipments reached 14.6 million units. In terms of unit shipments, BOE ranks first among global LCD TV panel suppliers. The inventory accumulation and peak season demand of the Double 11 Shopping Festival are both a huge driving force for TV panel shipment growth, both in terms of unit shipments and area shipments.
As Fuzhou's 8.5G production line is now fully operational and is currently increasing production at Hefei's 10.5-generation line, BOE's panel shipments are also growing. BOE also continued to optimize its product portfolio, with shipments of 65-inch and larger panels up by 200% in the third quarter. In view of this, in the third quarter, BOE ranked third in terms of area shipments.
In terms of unit shipments, LG Display ranked second, with TV panel shipments reaching 12.28 million units, up 5% from the previous quarter. However, due to its leading position in 55-inch, 65-inch, 75-inch and other large-size panel shipments, LG Display ranked first in terms of area shipments.
As the 50-inch panel shipments increased by 45% quarter-on-quarter, Innolux ranked third, with shipments totaling 12 million. At the same time, Innolux also managed to effectively reduce inventory.
Due to the strong growth in shipments of large-size panels (especially 75-inch and 83-inch panels), Samsung Display ranked fourth in terms of unit shipments and second in terms of area shipments.
In the third quarter, Huaxing Optoelectronics (CSOT) shipped nearly 10 million units, ranking fifth, with shipments of 32-inch, 43-inch and 55-inch panels increasing significantly during this period.
As the company's focus shifted to high value-added and high-end display products, AUO's third-quarter shipments ranked sixth, unchanged from the previous quarter.
In terms of panel size, shipments of 32-inch TV panels in the third quarter increased by 8% quarter-on-quarter, accounting for 31% of total global TV panel shipments. On a quarterly basis, 39-inch to 45-inch panel shipments fell 1%, 55-inch panel shipments fell 4.1%, while 65-inch and larger TV panel shipments increased 44% and 80%, respectively.
