It is reported that Chongqing Huike Jinyu Optoelectronics is actively expanding its production capacity, and announced on April 18 that it will build a new 8.6-generation LCD display wafer fab in Sichuan Province, western China, and an 11-generation LCD display fab in Zhengzhou, central China.
Huike Electronics has signed a transaction agreement with the local government of Mianyang, Sichuan, which will invest nearly 24 billion yuan ($ 3.83 billion) to build a local 8.6-generation liquid crystal display wafer fab. At the same time, the 11th generation LCD factory to be built in Zhengzhou will cost 40 billion yuan.
The company started commercial production in Chongqing's first 8.6 generation LCD display factory in March 2017, and is currently building a second 8.6 generation production line in Quzhou, eastern China, and is expected to achieve mass production in the first quarter of 2019.
According to relevant information, the construction of the third 8.6th generation plant of Huike Electronics will begin in the second quarter of 2018, and it is planned to start commercial production in the third quarter of 2019.
In addition, the factory in Mianyang will introduce small and medium-sized IPS panels for mobile phones, wearables and automotive applications, as well as large-sized application panels for TVs and displays.
