It is reported that due to increased demand and panel prices, especially the growth of small and medium-sized application panel prices, China's major LCD panel manufacturers in March have achieved significant growth in revenue.
According to industry insiders, the sales forecast for the second quarter is expected to continue to be strong as the 32-inch to 43-inch panel prices may continue to rise slightly and the decline rate of large-size panels is expected to slow down.
In March 2019, Innolux's revenue soared to NT$20.6 billion (US$6.6787 billion), an increase of 13.4% from the previous month. During this period, large-size panel shipments reached 10.12 million units, an increase of 21.9% from the previous month. Shipments reached 22.26 million units, an increase of 29%.
As for the first quarter of 2019, Innolux's revenue reached NT$59.9 billion, down 17.1% from the previous month and down 10.2% year-on-year. At the same time, large-size panel shipments were 28.53 million, down 14.9% from the previous month, and small and medium-sized shipments from South Africa were 60.35 million, a decrease of 2.5%.
AUO's revenue in March reached NT$243.9 billion, up 17.4% from the previous month and down 4.6% year-on-year. Year-to-date revenues reached NT$66.7 billion, down 13.5% from the previous month and down 10.4% year-on-year.
Hanyu Caijing's March revenue reached NT$1.21 billion, a year-on-year increase of 36.9%, down 12.6% year-on-year. Although shipments of small and medium-sized panels fell 26% qoq to 23.81 million units, while large-size panels and private-label panel shipments fell 68.8% to 15,000, revenues continued to grow.
Small and medium-sized panel supplier Lingju Technology's revenue in March was NT$759 million, a growth of 68.75% from the previous month and a decrease of 12.65% year-on-year. From January to March, revenues reached NT$1.935 billion, a decrease of 8.75% from the previous month and a decrease of 22.68% from the same period last year.
