According to South Korea’s daily economic report, Samsung’s consumer electronics (CE) division, which is responsible for the home appliance business, will expand its ultra-large TV series of over 75 inches in the second half of the year, launch new products, and expand sales of QLED TVs.
In the first half of 2018, Samsung QLED TVs increased by 4 times compared with the first half of 2017, and ultra-large TVs also increased by 3 times. The surge in sales of Samsung TV is due to the large number of large-scale sports events such as the World Cup and the Asian Games in 2018. The market strategy for ultra-large products of 75 inches or more is accurate.
According to IHS Markit, a foreign exchange source, the market for TVs above 75 inches is based on the amount. Samsung has increased from 42.3% in 2016, 46.2% in 2017, and 58.5% in the first quarter of 2018. Samsung acquired Dacor, a US home appliance brand, in 2016, targeting the most advanced embedded appliance market.
