The biggest advantage of the zebra strip connection is that it is easy to install and detachable. It is most commonly used in the test of segment code screens and in a character module. The disadvantage is that the volume is large, the performance against harsh environment is poor, and the surface finish of the printed circuit board is required to be high.

The biggest advantage of the metal wire connection method is that it is firm and reliable, and the electrode pins of the liquid crystal display are easy to install after being taken out. The main disadvantage is that the volume is large, and the electrode pitch of the display is required to be wide. In addition, the thickness of the glass is also required, so it is often used in the case where the number of electrodes of the instrument type is small and the environment is poor.
Conductive film is the most common type of large-scale dot matrix code screen connection. The main advantage is that it occupies a small space and is light in weight, and has no requirement for the relative position of the printed circuit board, and is particularly suitable for a multi-electrode dense arrangement. The disadvantage is that it cannot be disassembled, maintenance is difficult, and the conductive film may be broken in a harsh environment.
With the development of liquid crystal displays, the technical level of various connection methods is constantly improving. If the spacing of the zebra strips is getting smaller and smaller, the performance of the electroconductive film is getting better and better, and the installation conditions are also wider and wider. The method used in practical applications should be determined on a case-by-case basis.
