In 2015, BOE announced the construction of the world's most advanced 10.5 generation line. In 2016, Huaxing Optoelectronics announced the construction of the world's most advanced 11th generation line. China's two panel manufacturers started the panel production technology competition, BOE's 10.5 generation line. At the end of last year, the 11th generation line of Huaxing Optoelectronics will be put into production next year. Panel technology battle
When China invested heavily in advanced LCD panel production lines, global LCD panels began to show overcapacity since the second half of last year. LCD panel prices continued to fall. In the second quarter of this year, BOE notified TV companies that their panels would be sold at a 20% price reduction. Considering that the 10.5/11 generation lines of BOE and Huaxing Optoelectronics will be put into production one after another, it is expected that this overcapacity will lead to a price cut.
In fact, before the LCD panel began to cut prices, Korean panel manufacturers have realized that they are difficult to compete with Chinese panel companies in terms of cost.
