It is reported that Taiwan's LCD panel maker AUO (AUO) recently said that its comprehensive revenue in 2018 reached NT$307.63 billion (about US$9.98 billion), down 9.8% year-on-year.
AU Optronics said that the unaudited consolidated income for the whole year of 2018 was NT$24.86 billion, a decrease of 3.5% from the previous month and a decrease of 3.8% from the same period last year. In the fourth quarter of 2018, the consolidated revenue was NT$77.09 billion, a decrease of 4.9% from the previous quarter and a decrease of 4.4% from the same period last year.
In December 2018, shipments of large-size (10-inch and above) panels for LCD TVs, desktop monitors, notebook computers and other applications exceeded 9.51 million units, up 0.5% from the previous month; and small and medium-sized panels shipped It was about 9.48 million pieces, down 15.5% from the previous month.
In the fourth quarter of 2018, large-size panel shipments exceeded 28.45 million, down 4.5% from the previous month and down 0.7% year-on-year; small and medium-sized panel shipments reached approximately 32.15 million, down 24.5% from the previous month and down 31.6% from the same period last year.
